Security awareness · regular security snacks

Security knowledge that sticks – long after the training ends.

CyberSnack complements your existing awareness training with regular, short impulses throughout the year – as a calendar feed, free to try. Based on the forgetting curve, not on good intentions. And along the way, you get an honest picture of how security-aware your team really is.

The problem

Trained once a year isn't the same as staying secure.

The Ebbinghaus forgetting curve shows: without repetition, learned knowledge is barely retrievable after a few weeks – right when the next phishing email lands in the inbox.

82 %

of data breaches trace back to the human factor – phishing, misconfiguration, stolen credentials.

Five reviews at growing intervals (day 1 → 30) are enough to keep knowledge stable. CyberSnack applies this principle to a fixed, low-effort rhythm of regular security snacks.

How it works

Three steps – the effort is on us, not on your team.

1

You download the calendar

An ICS feed – compatible with Outlook, Google and Apple Calendar. No plugin, no app install, no signup process. The newsletter with images & memes is part of the customized company version.

2

Your team reads for two minutes

A fact, a quiz question, a tip or a quote – rotating, never the same content twice. Right in the calendar entry.

3

Trial phase: deliberately no tracking

The free trial collects nothing at all – not even aggregated figures. Only on individual request do we then build a customized version with team participation rate and overall awareness level – still entirely without individual evaluation.

The content

Six formats, one rhythm.

All content comes from a structured, source-based database – no generic stock phrases.

Quiz questions

Multiple choice, with an explanation of the correct answer.

📊

Facts

Short, sourced statistics with citations.

Jokes & memes

A bit of levity, so security isn't only about warnings – part of the customized company version.

PRO 📈

Attitude & behavior questions

Anonymous sentiment and behavior tracking over time.

The core principle

If anything is measured, it's teams. Never individuals.

Awareness programs often fail because of employee mistrust. That's why the trial access is completely tracking-free – and even the optional, custom-built evaluation stays strictly at team level.

Classic awareness tools
  • ✕ Individual click and error rates per employee
  • ✕ Ranking lists and "wall of shame"
  • ✕ Results visible to managers
  • ✕ Encourages fear instead of participation
CyberSnack
  • ✓ Trial access: no tracking at all, not even aggregated
  • ✓ On request: only aggregated participation rate & overall awareness level per team
  • ✓ No individual ever identifiable
  • ✓ No rankings, no performance pressure

Why we do this

It all started with one question: why do we forget security training so quickly?

CyberSnack grew out of a master's thesis on the effectiveness of security awareness measures. The finding: one-off trainings work short-term but fade almost completely – not because employees are careless, but because knowledge simply fades without repetition.

That's exactly where CyberSnack comes in: small, recurring impulses instead of one big, one-off measure – and a design that never relies on monitoring individual people.

Frequently asked questions

Before you start.

Is there a newsletter version too?

The free trial runs exclusively via the ICS calendar. The email newsletter (including images & memes, which a calendar can't reliably display) is part of the customized company version and is set up together with you on request.

Does our team need to install an app?

No. CyberSnack uses your existing calendar and email systems. No installation, no additional software, no conflicts with your MDM policy.

What does it cost to get started?

The current calendar is a trial version to get to know CyberSnack – permanently free, no hidden costs. If you'd like a customized company version afterward (e.g. with team-level evaluation, branding, or your own content over a longer period), we'll work out the terms directly with you.

How secure is our data?

Nothing at all is collected during the trial. Only if you later want an individual evaluation do we collect exclusively aggregated team metrics – never individual results, never tracking of individual people. Details in our Privacy Policy.
